After several months of contemplating whether or not I should buy a cree led flashlight, I finally pulled the trigger on this UltraFire. It's made of great aluminum allow and the weight and feel of it says it all. Everything came neatly boxed with the extra battery and adapter for regular batteries. Operation and use of the flashlight is simple enough; a couple clicks cycles through the different modes.
Recently, I've went on a grunion run and just had a regular flashlight with D batteries (yes like the olden days) and thought that it was bright enough to do the job until I saw the family next to me with one of these lighting up the shore. They were catching fish left and right because of the amazing coverage the t6 was able to produce. It pretty much convinced me that I needed one and it did not disappoint.
Terrific flashlight, dodgy charger.
Three brightness settings, plus strobe and SOS.
For every day use (indoors lighting up dark corners) the lowest brightness setting is adequate.
Bump up the brightness outdoors for more reach.
Outdoors on a clear night this thing makes the moon brighter ;-)
Flashlight body feels well constructed.
Only sign of cost cutting is the charger.
While it charges just fine the springs holding the batteries in place are weak.
I had to adjust the springs to get decent contact.
Recharge battery life: too early to tell.
I wouldn't trust leaving the charger plugged in all day, every day.
